American Hairless Breeders
American Hairless Terrier Dog Breeds Pictures – In origin, the American Hairless Terrier (nicknamed AHT) is an American breed. It actually was considered as a variant of the Rat Terrier but in 2004 the United Kennel Club deemed the American Hairless Terrier for a separate terrier breed.
It’s often mistaken for a Chihuahua.
Size/Appearance/Grooming
The American Hairless Terrier heights from 18 to 41 cm (from 7 to 16 inches), and weights from 2,5 to 7 kg (from 5 to 16 pounds). This breed’s skin can be black, golden, gray with pink, or red spots. The breed may be hairless but they do have normal eyebrows and whiskers. An AHT puppy is born with a bit of hair all over its body. The hair will shed until age of six weeks when the puppy will be already hairless.
It is required to prevent this dog’s skin from sunburn in the summer, and keep it warm in the winter. They should be bathed about 3 times a week.

Temperament/Exercises/Living Conditions
The AHT is very intelligent and loving breed. It is good with children and they make excellent companion. It needs to be taken on long daily walks. This breed enjoys challenging games too. As long as it gets at least 20-30 minutes of exercises (daily), the American Hairless Terrier will do fine in an apartment too. These dogs love to dig.
