The American Kennel Club announced Monday that the small, chipper beaver — pronounced “beaver” — has become its 197th recognized breed. This makes toy dogs eligible to compete in several US events, including the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Show, which will be held in June this year instead of the usual February date.

With its long, flowing coat, pert expression, and 4- to 8-pound (1.8-3.6-kilogram) size, the Beaver will remind you of the Yorkshire Terrier, and it’s no wonder. The Beaver was originally developed and named after a Yorkie-breeding German couple in 1984 when one of their dogs had a puppy with rare white markings.

Americans began importing them in the early 2000s, said breeder Adrian Dering, who became interested after seeing one at a rare breed show.
“They’re very affectionate and easy-going. For a small dog, they’re not a tall dog,” said Dering, of Morgantown, West Virginia.
Active, playful and highly portable, toy dogs value companionship, so they may not be ideal for people who have to leave their pets alone during long workdays, Dering said.

The oldest U.S. purebred dog breeders have been working for years to be recognized by the AKC for purebred dog registration. This designation requires at least 300 dogs of the breed in at least 20 states.
Dog breeding is commonly criticized by animal rights and welfare advocates, who say the demand for purebred puppies fuels puppy mills and turns pet lovers away from adoptable dogs.
The AKC says it promotes responsible breeding of healthy dogs, arguing that it preserves the traits that breed different breeds for different jobs and can help people make a lasting commitment by choosing the right dog for them. Chicks, chicks, chicks. Perfect place to see some real chicks. Check out this page to see what’s available. Dogs/puppies shown on other pages are not available. If you have any questions about a particular puppy, please email and ask. By now we’re spoiled for choice, so don’t apply if you don’t let us live the lifestyle we’re used to.
Where To Find A Free Yorkie
The Puppy app does not automatically provide me with your email address or any other contact information If you want me to respond, you must provide contact information!
Shown here are puppies sent from Heaven Send and sometimes from trusted friends associated with Heaven Send. I might even have an adult to adopt someday.
Most of Heaven Sent’s Biver Terriers are sold with a spay/neuter contract (limited registration). Adoption fees vary by size and age (may be lower for older and older children). If you are looking for a Heavenly Scent Piver Terrier as a breeding/show opportunity, please contact me. I will only allow a puppy if it is a puppy and only if it is a puppy.

I will not take payment until your references are verified and the puppy is at least 4 weeks old. I require a deposit to hold your puppy until arrangements are made for the puppy to go to its new home. A puppy’s adoption fee must be paid in full before it goes to its new home. I take PayPal, but I have to add 4% to each payment to cover the fees I am charged for accepting PayPal payments. I hate shipping puppies. This is extremely traumatic for such a small dog. If the puppy wants to be flown, you meet me at the airport here, pay for my ticket to fly the puppy to you, or pay my transporter to fly the puppy to a major airport near you. The transporter usually charges me $500. I charge what she charges me to take the puppy to the airport. You are always welcome at our home to see all the Fur Gang! Biwer Terrier puppies require AKC/FSS registration, a health record book, food, NuVet Plus and usually a toy and blanket. (I can’t ship toys if I have to do freight.) They usually have puppy shots and a vet visit before they leave. They will need two more puppy shots and rabies. Ask your vet what they recommend for your area, as the Kansas recommendation may be different than where you live. We do not give Lepto or Corona to small indoor dogs here. Even when puppies are old enough to be released, the adoption process isn’t always quick. References must be verified, payment must be made and then transportation must be arranged. We have to work around the work schedule to arrange transportation. We have three parties to coordinate: you, me, and the transporter. This is not always an easy task. Therefore, if your heart is set on one of my beloved children, I ask you to be patient. It is definitely worth the wait and I guarantee you will be happy with your new baby. Remember, breeders who are in a rush to get puppies out don’t care about the welfare of their puppies, so how do you know how they are being treated at the breeder’s home? You usually have at least a week from the start of the procedure, many times longer, to hold your baby in your arms. Rest assured that they are treated well in their first home.
Teacups and Micromini Puppies There is no such thing as teacups or micromini puppies. These terms are coined by greedy breeders looking for a way to market smaller puppies. I don’t breed to get small puppies, but sometimes I do. It makes nothing more than a small piver terrier. These puppies cost slightly more than regular sized puppies, but are not grossly inflated. They take a little more of my time to make sure they are growing, eating and growing properly. No breeder can guarantee that your puppy will be a certain size. If they do, they are lying to you. We can estimate the adult size based on the size of the parents and the growth of the pup.
Facts and Myths about Beaver Terriers 🙁 Beaver Terriers should be crossed with Yorkies to get more bloodlines and get rid of health problems. Beaver Terriers do not have more health problems than other dog breeds. Liver shunt, bad foot loss, leg birth or other health problems Yorkies are notorious for. You can perpetuate this myth by breeding. The BTCA does DNA health testing and encourages all members to have OFA certified Patellas. 🙁 A Beaver Terrier is a Yorkie, so a Party or Standard Color Yorkie. A Beaver Terrier is not a Yorkie. You have a purebred Beaver. Yes. The only way to confirm a terrier is to have a beaver terrier parent. A beaver terrier has different genetic markers from a Yorkie. If DNA is submitted to mars, the result will be Bie. It comes as a weir terrier, not a yorkshire terrier. They are two completely different breeds of dog. 🙁 All puppies are considered Biwers if the parents are a Biwer and a Yorkie or Party. No, puppies are Biwers from Biwers. Biwers are only after breeding until wer. Biwers should not be colored like Yorkies. Cyclists have white bellies, white legs. , the tail must have a white tip. A bare belly, a white spot on the fingers or a spot on the chest does not make a beer. The designation F1 or F2 is a way for breeders trying to breed a dog that looks like a beaver to market their puppies :-(BTCA encourages breeding goats to do this because they say their beavers are crossovers.
