Based in Sacramento, California, PCS helps rescue, rehabilitate and repatriate dogs and place them with carefully selected and adopted foster families. We provide training and social support for our dogs throughout their lives. The dogs we rescued from the shelter were already ethanized or at risk. We do not accept owner shipping. We strongly believe that it is the owner’s responsibility to bring their pet home safely and responsibly if for some reason the pet can no longer take care of it.

About 70% of all dogs in the shelter are “Pit Bulls” or “Pit Bull Mixes”. One out of every 500 dogs of this breed finds a home and the rest is euthanized. PCS is dedicated to reducing the Pit Bull homeless population by injecting and neutralizing all the dogs we rescue. In addition, we participate in community outreach events, outreach, neutralization, vaccinations and small animal husbandry throughout Northern California.
